Lakefront Afternoon

Ladies and Gentleman, We Have A WINNER & A WELCOME!

Just a short one!  The winning entry in our Nautical Nonsense Quilt Give-away is the following written by a lovely lass by the name of ...ahem... Perl Delite.  Miss Perl is the photographer from my first blog entry here; her and my daughter took all of the lovely photos down on Lake Michigan's lakefront one day this summer.  So, with great consideration given to her lovely sentiment AND the beautiful photos that she gave to me it is with great fun and frolic that we announce that the newest quilt from JHP is going to be called "Lakefront Afternoon" and it shall be designed to encompass  the picturesque images that "Miss Perl" so eloquently wrote about!  Ms. Perl requested an embroidered pillow as her reward (and we shall see about the "little mermaid" appendage!).

Miss Perl's winning entry:

"Just to make it impossible to decide, I think the next quilt should be the Beaches theme! I love the warm hues, and how better to remember a glorious summer than to snuggle up underneath it every night! On a more symbolic note, to me a trip to the beach is about more than the obvious incredibly relaxing escape from the stresses of life, it's about bringing people closer together... Taking the time to really listen and reconnect with those you love, and basking in the comfort they bring. What better way to express the comfort, warmth, and relaxation of a day at the beach than with a warm, soft, snugly quilt?"

A Worldwide Welcome

I would also like to welcome Xue to our crazy little Just Hatched Blog Family... All the way from TOKYO,  JAPAN!  She was writing to commend me on meeting an online/bloggy friend and wishes that she could do the same... I welcome you, dear lady, and look forward to hearing all you may wish to share as you work your way thru the words I have chosen to share in my blog.  And really, is Japan all that far away?  I think not!  Peace and welcome to Xue!
